La Playa Primer Muntanyar Beach in Javea

‘La Playa Primer Muntanyar’, also known as ‘the Beach of the First Mountain’ is a rough stone beach, stretching just under 2km. This beach offers some of the most mesmerizing, expansive views in the whole of Javea, especially for sunrise! Traditionally, the beach’s nickname is ‘The Dawn of Spain’. What to do at La Playa Primer Muntanyar?

Due to the usually calm waters located along the beach’s edge, it makes it a popular spot for surfers, paddleboarders and others to practice their watersports. There are multiple local companies, from which you are able to rent the necessary equipment to join in and ride the waves! If watersports isn’t your thing, never fear, sunbed and umbrella rental is here!

Offered on the beach at a fair rate, you can keep your cooler box out of the sun and keep your bum off the rocks! Top Tips for La Playa Primer Muntanyar

THE EARLY BIRD – This beach in Javea is famous for its spectacular view of the rising Sun, so be sure to set your alarm one morning and make it to the beach in time for it… you will not regret it!

BRING PROPER FOOTWEAR – The rough and rocky, uneven stone ground should not be taken lightly. Suitable footwear is a must when wanting to make the most of this beach. A cheap pair of rock shoes won’t only help when crossing the rocky beach, but also when entering and exiting the sea, which can at times prove difficult depending on the tide and roughness of the waters.

HAVE A TIPPLE – All of the pop up bars along the beach in the summer time are privately owned, and have high rental costs. So really, in having a cocktail under the hot Spanish Sun, you’re actually doing a responsible thing and helping out a local business! Double win!
