Javea Festival – The Montgorock Xàbia Festival

The Montgorock Xàbia Festival (also known as MRK) is the seminal live music event of the year in Javea.

Montgorock Xàbia Festival is now held in the Recinto La Fontana – just five minutes from Javea’s Arenal beach, at the entrance to Javea’s gorgeous marina, and with dramatic views of the Montgo massif to the north.

With an exclusive VIP area, headline acts, proximity to one of the Costa Blanca’s best beaches, fine food, good drinks and crowds often totaling over 15,000 the Montgorock Xábia Festival is one of the highlights of the year in Javea and surroundings.

Montgorock Xàbia Festival

The Montgorock Xàbia Festival held its first-ever edition in 2013.

The festival was cancelled in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic restrictions, making the Montgorock Xàbia Festival in 2022 the ninth edition.

Previous editions of MRK have been held at the Hacienda nightclub up high on the Les Planes area of the Cabo San Antonio headland. It has also been celebrated at the Moli Blanc nightclub on the outskirts of the Javea old town.

In the last few years, however, Montgorock Xàbia Festival has found a home at the Recinto La Fontana in the Arenal area of Javea and right next to the Marina La Fontana with a direct connection to the Arenal seafront.

MRK is typically a five-minute walk from the beach along the gorgeous walkways bordering the Marina La Fontana canal.

In 2018 the MRK festival in Javea enjoyed two different stages and an audience of 15,000 people. In 2022, there was just one stage and a maximum audience of 7,000.

Prices for the Montgorock Xàbia Festival used to cost just €10-€20 but as the quality of the event has grown – and a specially-designed VIP area included – prices for 2022 were between €49-€115 for a weekend pass. The VIP area – called Palco Rock – boasts an open bar, great views close to the music, relaxing furniture and its own bathrooms.

According to the Montgorock Xàbia Festival website, you can enjoy ‘friends, sun, beach, great live music and an envious surrounding’.

Montgorock Xàbia Festival also offers a special bus service costing just €37 from Madrid, €22 from Valencia and €21 from Alicante.
