Catland Javea is a compassionate non-profit organization dedicated to improving the lives of stray and abandoned cats in Javea on Spain’s Costa Blanca. Founded by animal welfare advocate Claire Wall, the initiative focuses on rescuing, rehabilitating, and rehoming cats that would otherwise be living on the streets. The organization works closely with the local Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) program run by Javea Feral Cats to help control the feral cat population in a humane and responsible way.
The Catland project involves building a dedicated cat shelter in the Ramblars area of Javea, designed to provide a safe environment for up to around 80–100 cats at a time. The shelter will include facilities such as a veterinary clinic, quarantine area, nursery, and adoption spaces to ensure cats receive proper care and preparation for adoption.
Catland Javea also focuses heavily on community education, raising awareness about responsible pet ownership, sterilisation, and animal welfare. Supported by volunteers, donors, and international partners, the organisation is working to create lasting change for street cats throughout the region.
